“I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heard my voice” (Jonah 2:6 KJV)
Jonah was delivered out of “hell”. The Hebrew word translated “hell” in the KJV of the Old Testament means the “grave”. But then what?
“For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell…there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.” (Psalm 16:10; Acts 24:15)

So I guess it is not wrong to say that when good or bad people die they both go to hell (“the grave”) until their resurrection…but both will be delivered out of it.
"As in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22)
