Kingmaker

“…the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whoever He will.” (Daniel 4:17, 25)

When I was younger I was passionate about a lot of things that seemed of great importance to me at the time. As I have grown older I have become less so, and have reached the conclusion that passion may be good at times, but in most cases it is a fleeting zeal that soon becomes a thing of the past. It has been kind of fun to feel passion for a political candidate again but….

I just reviewed some of my posts with regard to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Those posts were written with passion and I honestly feel that, from my perspective, what I wrote was correct. And I would like to see if either of them, if elected, could turn the tide of our drift toward Socialism. However, when measured by the above passage of Scripture I must admit that the winner of the next election is not is the hands of passionate people, but in the hands of a sovereign God. And assuming the bible is true…

"…the LORD Most High is awesome, He is the Great King over all the earth” (Psalm 47:2)

So, assuming Donald Tump and/or Ted Cruz self-destruct because of their silly feud, or they just lose fair and square, I am going to be OK with it as long as I can believe that God “rules” as the “Great King over all the earth” and “gives it to whomever He will”…and I do.

Will God Pick Trump?

“We are tempted to think that this world would be much better if the saints could only get control of the political power, or if the highest offices were filled only with men of God. But the Scriptures do not contemplate any such condition, and give no instructions for ruling, only for obeying. …The governments today have many honest, capable men, but they find themselves thwarted by the unseen spiritual powers which are leading mankind in opposition to God and His Christ.”

A. E. Knoch (1874-1965) Unsearchable Riches, Volume 41.

"Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him…” (Daniel 2:20-22)

Don’t look for a religious man as a political savior. Just vote for the man you decide can best solve the problems which are ever present in the nations of mankind…lack of jobs, criminal behavior of evil people, and failed diplomacy between competing cultures and nations.

I personally think Trump has those skills we need now, and for now anyway continue to support him. God alone will decide who is put in office but he has not made that information available to me…or you…we must wait and see. And I will try to support his choice, even if he is not my choice…

“…the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.” (Daniel 4:17)

If you don’t like who wins the elections, well take it up with God. I am sure he will apologize to you for not assigning the “kingdoms on earth” according to your wise counsel.
Another election day…what to do!

Those who believe God are called Saints in the Bible. Note that they believe what the God “says”… not just in a god. As Saints of God we are part of a Theocracy, not a Democracy. God has cast the only vote that matters eternally…and he voted in favor of His enemies and turning them into Saints….go figure…God is not like us!

“…while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation…. one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.…God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ...” (Romans 5:10-11; 2 Corinthians 5:14-20)

Believers, regardless of what we may say or how we vote, are not simply Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Communists or Socialists. We are ambassadors for Christ…or we are not.

“…the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people… For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God.” (Daniel 4:17; Romans 13:1-2)

That being said…VOTE - but remember it is God who determines who among the “lowliest of people” will win.
