Sir Isaac Newton on Prophecy

“The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.” (Revelation 1:1) After years of personal study of the book of Revelation and its prophecy, and reading many articles and books by famous Christian men who have attempted to interpret those prophecies and predict the future, it has become clear to me that Sir Isaac Newton’s observation of those interpreters is correct… “The folly of interpreters has been to foretell times and things by this prophecy of the Revelation, as if God designed to make them prophets. By this rashness they have not only exposed themselves, but brought the prophecy also into contempt. The design of God was much otherwise.
