“…we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead...” (2 Corinthians 1:8)
There you have it in the Words of God Himself. The reason we should not trust in ourselves is because we cannot raise ourselves from the dead. We should trust God who said He can, demonstrated He can by raising Jesus His Son, and will do so for ALL the rest of His Children. Again, some good advice…
“…we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us…” (1 Corinthians 1:9-10)
