The Resurrection

“Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.” (Acts 4:1-2)

Modern day Sadducees (most Philosophers and the more liberal Theologians) question the resurrection. They have no HOPE and ridicule those of us who do.

Some who have this hope encourage us to live in “resurrection power” as if believing in the resurrection gives some supernatural power in this life. NO, it doesn’t…it simply gives us HOPE and PEACE in the midst of this uncertain evil age in which we live!

However, in order to have this HOPE and peace, one must have FAITH that there will be a resurrection. The resurrection of Jesus proved it can and will happen.  And if the bible is true it is going to happen whether you believe it will or not…but you can’t have the PEACE it brings unless you BELIEVE.   I have chosen to believe it and want my family and friends to have this hope and peace!

“As in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive…we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope…For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (1 Corinthians 15:22; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
