Preaching Is Useless - Unless
“And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith… if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost…But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Corinthians 15:14-20)
The cross did not save us from death, it reconciled us to God and revealed the depth of what God would do to demonstrate His love for us. It is His resurrection to immortal LIFE that guarantees our salvation from death…
“Christ died for the ungodly… God demonstrates his own love for us in this - while we were still sinners, Christ died for us…For since, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be SAVED through HIS LIFE!” (Romans 5:6-10)
The resurrection of Jesus is the good news that the early followers of Christ shared…
“This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses…the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses…Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead…And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” (Acts 2:32; 3:15; 4:10, 33)
The truth that humanity will also be raised from the dead is the GRACE which rests on those who believe that Jesus will soon return to resurrect our loved ones who have fallen asleep!
“For I show you a Mystery…in the twinkling of an eye…the dead will be raised incorruptible…” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
