New Years Resolution

"I will approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that I may receive mercy and find grace to help me at the proper time." (Hebrews 4:16)

And that is my New Years Resolution this year, and for each year of the remainder of my life.

Breathtaking Stupidity

My own stupidity is breathtaking, but I am learning to trust in the  “mysterious and hidden wisdom of God”  that His Spirit reveals from time to time. “Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become stupid, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is stupidity in God’s sight. He Gives Grace to those He Humbles

God said... " By Myself I have sworn; Truth has gone from My mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to Me, every tongue will swear allegiance.  It will be said to Me: Righteousness and strength is only in the LORD." All who are enraged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame."   (Isaiah 45:23-24) Those enraged and proud will be put to shame and humbled. And when humbled, God gives them His grace. "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."  (1 Peter 5:5) Politicians are overconfident in their ability to change things. They have to be for others to support and vote for them. Voters are an interesting lot, generally voting for whoever promises the biggest Goose in their pot. We are almost always disappointed when our "Goose is cooked". Nevertheless, in about a month I will vote for one of those proud candidates - hoping that before he or she leaves office they will be "put to shame" , "humbled...

The Unpardonable Sin - What is it?

"…Whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come." (Matthew 12:32) This verse scares the crap out of some folks. They are not sure what it means but have been told by Christianity that it is unpardonable, and anyone who commits it can’t be saved and will be tortured in hell forever. But what does the above verse really mean? Well it helps to read all the Scripture to know, but here in a nutshell is what I found: 1. The "Holy Spirit" is the "spirit of truth" (John 16:3) 2. “No one can say, 'Jesus is Lord', except by the Holy Spirit “ (1 Corinthians 12:3) 3. "...every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord..." (Philippians 2:10-11) 4. Christ Jesus is  "the Savior of the world” (John 4:42). 5.
