Mankind Is Linked To God
"GRACE is better than silver and gold. The rich and the poor have a common bond, the LORD is the maker of them all." (Proverbs 22:1-2)
Religions have this common. Each seem to think that what separates them from sinners is their membership in their religion. However no one escapes death which is the judgment of God on sin. Mankind is linked to each other by sin and its ultimate penalty. God created us that way so He could demonstrate His "MERCY TO ALL".
”For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show MERCY TO ALL. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! ...For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever." (Romans 11:32-36)
Mankind is not only linked to each other, we are also linked to God by the fact that He is "the maker of them all". In other words he is our "Father".
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:4-6)
The Greek word for Father is "pater" and means to bring into being in order to pass on the potential for likeness. (Strong's Concordance #3962).
Most importantly, mankind is linked to God by the fact that He is our "Savior".
"And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior, there is none except Me..." (Isaiah 45:21)
A Savior saves. If one attempts to save but fails, he is not The Savior but just the god of religious men - and a failure. We are assured in Scripture that God will not fail. He has the desire and power to save mankind from the "wages of sin" - which is death. He will deliver us from death through resurrection, just as He has done for our "mediator", the "man Jesus Christ", who gave himself as a ransom for "all" resulting in the "free gift of eternal life" for all mankind.
"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time...For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " (1 Timothy 2:3-6; Romans 6:23)
